advocacy training in ninewa
Because of its location, resources, and ethnic diversity, the Ninewa region is affected by power struggles between Baghdad and the Kurdistan Regional Government, external interventions, and various armed militias.
Citizens are struggling under the threat of violence, restricted political power and economic hardships. Our training helps them develop policy papers and navigate the political system to advocate for their needs.
Building bridges with social media
EPIC’s 2021 digital peacebuilding pilot project trained a cohort of community leaders in Sinjar, the site of a genocide committed by the Islamic State in 2014.
Participants practiced content production and audience growth strategies in a four-part interactive workshop. They designed social change projects such as a peer support group for female survivors and Sinjar’s first-ever crosswalk. Watch the videos created by participants.
