For twelve years straight, EPIC has rallied supporters to turn compassion into action for Iraqi children. The Iraqi Children Foundation (ICF)’s annual 5K benefit run/walk has long been a key point of partnership between EPIC and ICF. Last year, we assembled a team of 54 supporters to demonstrate our commitment to Iraqi children, earning the title of “largest team ever.” This year, following our successful partnership with ICF on the Summer of Hope initiative, we’re rallying again on September 6 to show the strength of our continued partnership with this admirable organization.

The annual “In Their Shoes” 5K Run/Walk attracts participants from around the world in a vibrant display of the global recognition of the ongoing struggles of some of Iraq’s most vulnerable young people. The funds raised by this event go towards ICF programs benefiting orphans and children at risk of abuse or neglect.

The in-person event is held at the beautiful Rock Creek Park in Washington, D.C. The run/walk is followed by music, snacks, and a celebration of people dedicated to the cause. However, those who wish to participate but are unable to attend the D.C. event are able to participate virtually from anywhere around the world. Last year, EPIC team members participated from Seattle to Boston, Nairobi to London!
